Description
2017-0507. Advertisement for "Ka-ton-ka, the great Indian remedy" (on verso). Handwritten note on back "Donald McKay's snake oil medicine show." Shows young woman in native dress, young child in cradleboard. Ka-ton-ka was made by the Oregon Indian Medicine Company, owned by Thomas Augustus Edwards. Donald McKay associated with Edwards in making of medicines. Used medicine shows to advertise product.
