Description
Ana Acosta tells her story of moving to and living in Benicia which she wrote when Benicia Public Library sponsored a community reading project. The book chosen was My California, a compilation of essays by local authors. The Literacy and ESL students were encouraged to participate. They were provided cameras, asked to take pictures, and to write an essay about the city of Benicia. As a result of their hard work, a book was created using the essays titled Through Our Eyes: A Photo Essay Project by Adult Learners and English as a Second Language Learners of the Benicia Public Library.
