Description
Photograph of a religious ceremony [?] performed by a Chinese Buddhist priest, [s.d.]. The priest can be seen in the foreground, showing three quarters of his back to the viewer, while holding up what appears to be a small cup. He is wearing what seems to be a quilt, in a decorative crisscross design, which covers his entire body. A crown-like hat is strapped to the back of his head with a long ribbon, showing Chinese characters, attached to its side. He is standing in front of an altar, while facing a small statue with his eyes closed the statue is sitting on a table covered by a table cloth with decorative designs of birds. There are two small bowls of food and what seems to be a large teapot sitting on the table. A pagoda-style roof structure covers the small altar and tapestries with religious icons serve as the altar's background.
