Photograph dated March 17, 1964 shows fire fighters battling against a blaze in the Verdugo Hills fire that destroyed homes in Burbank and Glendale. The article partially reads, "Gov. Edmund G. Brown today declared fire-ravaged sections of Burbank, Glendale and Eagle Rock a disaster area, paving the way for the federal government to issue a similar declaration to seek federal assistance if necessary...The first report came about 6 a.m. yesterday from the Whiting Woods district in Glendale, east of the Verdugo Hills.
