The tensions and worries of winning a tight game are forgotten as these two baseball pitching stars of the Los Angeles Dodgers concentrate on keeping the motors of a U.S. Army truck in good working condition for an inspection. Wearing Army fatigues, Don Drysdale and Sandy Koufax team up to change parts of a 2 1/2-ton truck at the U.S. Army Reserve Center in Van Nuys, California, during their two weeks of active duty for training. Drysdale won 25 games and lost nine the past season, while Koufax won 4 and lost seven when injury in mid-season forced him out of the competition. Photo dated: March 20, 1966.
