Photograph caption dated November 23, 1955 reads, "Former city man raises turkeys - Life in the city was abandoned 10 years ago by Phil Vodon, who walks among several thousand of his broad-breasted bronze turkeys at his ranch in Elizabeth Lake Canyon near Lake Hughes. Rancher Vodon raises 8,000 to 10,000 turkeys annually for processing in Los Angeles and San Fernando Valley markets. Turkey will be choice of most Valleyites for Thanksgiving dinner tomorrow."; See image #00122084 for additional photo in this series.
