Photograph caption dated September 18, 1950 reads, "Martin Pollard, chairman of 'Crusade for Freedom' campaign in San Fernando Valley, opens headquarters today at 4223 Lankershim Blvd., North Hollywood. Behind him is Mrs. Merle Potter, headquarters secretary. Campaign is for 67,000 signatures on scrolls to be permanently enshrined in Freedom Bell monument now being erected in Berlin. Endorsers may call SUnset 3-3221 or SUnset 3-6867 to learn of scrolls."
