The Crippled Children's Society was founded in 1926 by the Los Angeles Rotary Club, primarily to serve the needs of children affected with polio. The society established several rehabilitation centers for children throughout Los Angeles to help children with all kinds of disabilities. In 2000, the name was changed to Ability First. Photograph caption dated December 23, 1963 reads "The Reseda DeMolay chapter presented a tree from group's lot to Rancho del Valle Crippled Children's Society of Los Angeles County, Woodland Hills. From left are George Moore, dad advisor to chapter; James Nickerson, past master counselor; Dian Morrison, a patient, and Marilyn Graves, society director. Lot is at Sherman Way and Lindley."
