Photograph article dated August 20, 1964 partially reads, "'I wanna' hold your hand' is all right for the Beatles, but what Capt. Charles Crumly wants to know now is 'How do you handle 20,000 hysterical females?' Crumly, who has spent 24 years on the Los Angeles police force, was appointed captain of the Hollywood Division on Monday, just in time to take responsibility for crowd control when the long-haired foursome appears at the Hollywood Bowl on Sunday night. A veteran of four years in the Marine Corps as well as his 24 years of police work, Crumly is scratching his sandy hair trying to figure out just what will happen when more than 20,000 teens try to jam their way into the bowl."
