Description
Faring not as well as the Southland's art museums, some private art galleries are littered with damaged merchandise and glass from broken show windows. Photo shows Jeff Ames of Ames Art Gallery, 8725 Wilshire Boulevard, examining damage in the bronze room. Of the estimated $50,000 loss, only $16,000 (the windows) was covered by "Act of God" insurance. Photo dated: February 12, 1971.
