Description
Joseph Lotz came to San Jose in 1871. He was a carriage painter and piano finisher until 1876, when he became City Treasurer of San Jose. He became County Treasurer in 1885. He married Mamie Cross in 1887. Mamie Cross Lotz often submitted poems and stories to local publications.
