2005-0065 PHOTO: JONES, HENRY CLAY AND FLORENCE HENDERSON View of Henry Clay Jones and Florence Henderson Jones at entrance to Corona Exhibit at the Riverside County Fair, 1917; shows agricultural produce: alfalfa, squash, milo maize, corn, yams, other vegetables, pampas grass, and palm fronds forming wall and gate; lintel text "At Home." Riverside County; 1917. Accompanying news article from the Corona Courier, October 19, 1917 includes tribute to Henry Clay and Florence Henderson Jones, by Dr. E.H. Smith: "A Vote of Thanks: Her gratitude to H.C. Jones/Corona very gladly owns./Justice demands that we declare/Our pride in his work at the Fair/Novel enough to win a prize-/Enhancing us in others eyes./Such men a credit to us are/And help to spread our fame afar./Nor should we praise but him alone/Due credit to his wife we own,/Whose matchless taste and judgment wise,/In various ways helped win the prize./For all Corona we express/Eternal thanks; Yours, E.H.S." Gift of Rick Worthing.
