Biffle is asserted to have testified falsely that he saw Miss Pringle and Nicholas Dunaev, playwright, together in the lobby of the Pantages Theatre the afternoon of the alleged attack.; Second photograph caption dated January 20, 1930 reads, "Garland Biffle, Alhambra law book salesman, today was scheduled to appear for a second trial on perjury charges growing out of testimony he gave at the trial of Alexander Pantages."
