Note translation: Peter Valentin doubts the identification of these dancers as taking part in a funeral custom (PV 02.2002). - NB we can date this quite precisely to the first journey into Bakossi in the mid-1890s - there is an engraving based on this photo in a comtemporary publication, and the traveller, F.Autenrieth, also describes the encounter with this group. (PJ 02.2002).
