Photograph of two aborigine boys pounding Tsuso pith to make paper, Taihoku, Taiwan, [s.d.]. At center, two adolescent boys squat around a small pit, smashing plant matter with large wooden plungers. A forest of thin-trunked trees surrounds them. Writing beneath the image reads "At work in Tsuso grove, pushing otu white pith by means of wooden plungers. All the trees shown in the picture are Tsuso. From the American Consul at Taihoku, Taiwan".
