Description
This circa 1950 postcard reveals the flora adorning the Town and Country shopping mall, located at Fulton and Marconi Avenues. Built in 1946 under the imaginative eye of contractor Jere Strizek, the weathered and semi-arid face of the development met his vision of what California was to him as a boy growing up in Eastern Europe - palm trees, sunshine and mellow Spanish-style architecture.
