The Huntington Beach Central Library and Cultural Resource Center, a 73,000 square foot building designed by the iconic architectural team of Richard and Dion Neutra, opened in 1975. Over the next two decades, it became a vital resource for a growing local community and the public throughout Orange County and beyond. Architects Anthony & Langford were hired to design a 43,000 square foot addition, sensitive to the original design. Completed by the end of 1994, the addition included one of the most significant children's libraries in the west with its own story-time theatre, seven additional meeting rooms and a 320 seat theatre. In this film, Director Ron Hayden (a former California Library Association Librarian of the Year) provides a tour of the newly expanded library. This film was professionally prepared for the then-active Huntington Beach TV station. 3-30-95 CAT I.C.H. Inside City Hall Ref. 3894 "The Library of H.B. Tour" Host: Jane Cameron Visit to the H.B.
