Description
This circa 1900 postcard shows the Pythian Castle, resting at the northwest corner of Ninth and I streets. Built in 1889, it was the work of architect W.H. Hamilton and contractor E.A. Bovyer. The castle, built for 25,000 dollars, served four different Pythian lodges and boasted a spring dancefloor and an auditorium that could accomodate up to 400 persons.
