Photograph caption dated December 8, 1955 reads, "Northrop Aircraft worker tests new Sky Screen radar device which increases number of unidentified aircraft which can be identified. Radar tube is mounted in top section. Mirror splits image and transfers incoming radar information onto a 16-inch plotting surface."
