Photograph was edited for publication purposes Photograph caption dated June 3, 1963 reads, "University of Southern California coed Donna Hartsock has been named Miss Recreation of 1963 for the Parks and Recreation Department of Los Angeles. Miss Hartsock will appear at community festivals, special events and major recreation activities in behalf of 70 city recreation and park departments in Los Angeles County during Park and Recreation Month, to be observed in July. The 20-year-old student was chosen over 50 girls by a panel of judges that included Los Angeles Angel catcher Bob Rodgers and Ram football player Ed Meador."
