Description
Los Angeles Muslims and police had a furous battle. After it was over, police Sgt. Stanley Uno (right) stands with his shotgun ready as ambulancemen pick up the victims in front of Muslim headquarters, 5606 South Broadway. One Muslim died, seven were wounded and eight police were injured. Howard Ballew took 3rd prize with this on-the-spot photo, taken June 21, 1962.
