Title supplied by cataloger. Pictured are James Ferguson and his brother-associate, C. M. Ferguson, who head the American Mercantile Company, located at 819 N. Brighton St., Burbank. The industrialists have received word that due to the recent import restrictions placed on every type of merchandise going into Mexico, an opportunity is developing for the assembly of goods south of the border. According to C. M. Ferguson, less duty is paid by American manufacturers for equipment that is shipped to Mexico not assembled. Ferguson said Mexico wants the business and details are being worked out whereby local manufacturers may take advantage of the Mexican laws as they interpret them and as it affects local products.
