Local high school students rehearse for a special holiday program of scenes from children's books to be held at Vanowen Park Branch Library, 7:30 p.m., Friday, December 18, 1970. The students are from Francis Polytechnic High School and are working on a scene from "The steadfast tin soldier". They are, from left to right, Sally Simon, Pat Rainville, Jane Gazzaruso, Diana Green and Andy Avalos. The branch library is located at 12311 Vanowen Street. It was later replaced by Valley Plaza Branch Library at the same location.
