Description
Photograph of Southern California's Natural Gas supply system, ca. 1955. A series of piping makes its way through an elaborate support system, suspended mid-air by thin cables and a bridge-like stream of metal towers. The pipe strings from left, into one of the lower sections of the tower, and streams through center to another tower in the rightmost distance. Beneath the first tower is a small fenced-off area atop a barren plot of land. In the distance, one can discern house-like structures behind a line of trees. The mountains loom in the far background.
