San Fernando Valley State College is now California State University, Northridge.
Photograph caption dated October 1, 1962 reads "Romoli." The article partially reads "Phil led the Valley State College offense against Claremont-Mudd. He hit end Ken Olson for the Matador's only touchdown and ran the ball club with poise. Coach Sam Winningham said that Romoli was passing as well as he ever has in college."
