Description

Exterior view of the CBS building located at 6121 Sunset Boulevard and the corner of El Centro Avenue in Hollywood. This five-story office building is home to radio stations KNX 1070 and KCBS 83FM, as well as CBS Channel 2 television station. It opened as the Columbia Broadcasting System building on April 30, 1938, but had previously been the old Nestor Studios location, which housed early radio stations. The company's sprawling production facilities are at another location--at Beverly and Fairfax in West Hollywood. The architect for this building was William Lescaze. Photo dated: August 18, 2005.
