Photograph of an exterior view of a United States box car from World War I, ca.1914. The long rectangular box car is at center and is composed of horizontal wooden beams held together with metal braces. There are four sets of wheels with two wheels in each set. There is a partially open door in the center of the car, and an American flag is waving from a flagpole on the car's roof. Several words and numbers are painted on the side of the car at left, including, "USA", "5", "7", "33", "1898 Sq. Ft.", "Capacity", "66000 Lbs.", "F 42", "Wt 33200", and "New 11 13".
