Description
The photo caption printed in the Sacramento Bee on July 18, 1965 states: "This unusual shaped tree attracts summer visitors to the Butte Lake end of Lassen Volcanic National Park. The tree is on the six mile dirt road, closed most of last summer for repairs, which leads from the Susanville, Lassen County, highway to the lake. The old road is open to the campground and picnic area."
