Description
This circa-1975 rendering of the future Sylvan Oaks Library, here under the working title of the Citrus Heights-Foothill Branch Library, shows a design concept that was created by the Sacramento-based architectural firm of Mau, Barnum, Folsom, and Mirza. Architect Julius Mirza called the library project “an architect’s dream. One’s reaction is to design the building to grow within its natural wooded surroundings to appear as if it has always been there. The result of this reaction is the completed library which functions within the tree pattern and traffic flow and, yet, has a scale and materials composition which harmonize with the surrounding woods atmosphere.”
