Description
A woman is wearing a gold dress decorated with bands of white lace with scalloped edges. In the right hand corner of the page is a view of the back of her dress. The sleeves of the dress are long and snugly fitted. At the wrists they are trimmed with white lace, and the upper sleeves are of white lace with two rows of gold ruffles just above the elbows. The front of the bodice is open to the waist and edged with white lace and a narrow gold edging. In the back the neckline forms a very deep v, reaching to the waist. Underneath is a white lace blouse with a very high neckline reaching to her chin. Below the lace is a section of light blue, full at the front and with rounded sections at the sides of the front opening. The bodice is gathered slightly at the waist, and that slight gathering is mirrored below the narrow black belt. The skirt is flared out at the hem, and the body of the skirt is trimmed with crossed bands of white lace. The lower band creates a zigzag upper hem, with a double row of closely pleated gold with the upper row following the zigzags. She is wearing a black straw hat with zigzag edges, trimmed with black plumes and yellow flowers. She is wearing white gloves and holds a white lace parasol, trimmed with black.
