Photograph caption dated November 14, 1947 reads, "Abandonment of street car service along Hoover street has created deplorable conditions to business along the street, according to M. L. Cook, right, owner of a market at 6103 South Hoover. The sign at right expresses his opinion. Cook, who said the abandonment of the street car service has cost him $2000 worth of business a month, is shown with L. A. Woodward, who is campaigning for resumption of street car service."
