Description
Decorative wooden pillars supporting the beams that support the roof of the Audience Hall (Magul Maluwa), where the king met his ministers and foreign dignitaries and where important court proceedings were held. The 64 pillars include 32 at the corners, which depict the goddess Lakshmi. The royal architect was Devendra Mulachari, who also designed the Kandy Lake across from the palace complex.
