Description
Annotation translation: "These two men with their unusual headdress made of long feathers from chickens and other birds are Bali men in war-dress. During the Lela Festival military exercises are held after the animal sacrifice. The first takes place in the King's compound, the later ones on the following days in the open field. The King, too, moves out in war-dress. The headdress is probably a form of camouflage. If the warriors were on the watch in hiding they looked more like bushes and would not be noticed by the enemy."
