Description
Roughly 10,000 Japanese Americans were sent to Manzanar War Relocation Center in eastern California, one of ten confinement camps set up in the wake of Executive Order 9066. One of the most influential teachers at Manzanar High School was Lou Frizzell. Frizzell taught music, and wrote many original songs for student performances. One of those students was Arnold T. Maeda. Maeda typed the lyrics to Frizzell's operetta Loud and Clear in his free time at Manzanar, and performed many of the songs for a small group at the 2013 Manzanar Reunion.
