"Elim. Szene vom Kirchbazar." ("Elim. Scene from the church bazar."). An open-air restaurant. In the center a woman with a large hat behind tables upon which are two bottles and plates. Around her people whose faces cannot be seen. In the background a house and trees. The photographer is Willibald Schaberg, born in 1900 in Dresden where he worked as a teacher and theologist. In 1929 he married Elfriede Henriette Johanna Nigrin in Herrnhut. From 1929-39 and again from 1948 Schaberg worked as a missionary in western South Africa, especially in Elim. From 1934 he was Präses of the western South Africa Mission. In 1939 he went on holiday to Germany only to return to South Africa in 1948. From then on further information about him is missing.
