Description
Photograph article dated February 9, 1962 partially reads, "The most beautiful girl in America has not had a date since last fall. 'There's no such thing as personal life when you are Miss America,' says Maria Beale Fletcher, the raven-haired North Carolina beauty who holds the current title. 'But there are so many compensating factors that you don't really miss it,' she hastened to add. Miss Fletcher is in Los Angeles to appear at a series of fashion shows for Everglaze Cotton. She will model at the Broadway-Valley at 8 p.m. today in a special showing of Miss America fashions."
