View of Ray Horne's Blue Rhythm Band, the morning after a fraternity ball in Richard Springs, Butte County ca. 1933. Donor: Elmer Sagan. This picture was taken the Sunday morning, after the ball. This affair where the picture was taken in the ballroom at Richardson Springs. It was a fraternity ball -- the frat was called the Kappas, and it was not a college fraternity proud of this bandstand. The background of cellophane was colored and had spots (lights) flashing onto it. (Sunrise). Seating order on bandstand -- Ray Horne's Blue Rhythm -- sometime between 1930 + 1934 -- apt to be 1933 or 1934? Bill Brailard, Eroll Ullom (singer + violinist), Austin Palmer (tenor sax), leader Ray Horne (alto sax), Brown (alto sax) called Brownie, Elmer Sagen (piano), Don Roderick (guitar + banjo).
