Description
52 Lovell Ave. These three photos show different angles of the front of the Old Carnegie Library. The two-story brick building has a central stairway, with the stairs coming up from both sides, leading to the wide glass entry door placed mid-floor. There is an arched door set into the brick front of the stairway that accesses the lower floor. There are five vertical windows in a row on either side of the upper floor, with starburst patterned transom windows above each. The lower floor has three adjoining windows on either side with plain transoms. On either side of these lower sets of windows are single smaller tall narrow windows. White wood trim and decorative mouldings frame the windows and band the building. The building has a flat roof. It is buile above a retaining wall next to the sidewalk and features curved stairways leading up the the library from the street, through the retaing wall.
