A view of Metro bus, Line #81, as it makes its way through the intersection of Spring and 1st streets. The MTA (formerly RTD) bus system was established in February 1993 from the merger of the Southern California Rapid Transit District (RTD), the county's bus and LRT operator and the Los Angeles County Transportation Commission (LACTC). The MTA is headquartered in the Gateway Center building, located directly east of Los Angeles Union Station in Downtown Los Angeles. Line #81 travels northbound from Harbor Fwy/I-105 Station to Colorado & Eagledale, and southbound back from Colorado & Eagledale to Harbor Fwy/I-105 Station. Photograph dated August 23, 2005.
