Description
Photograph of S.S. Ohio at sea, showing a prisoner in irons, during the Los Angeles Chamber of Commerce's voyage to Hawaii, 1907. An old man is visible in the center of a crowd sitting down on a folding chair while stretching out his legs which exposes irons hanging from one of his ankles and another pair of irons around his wrist. He has a cap sitting on his lap which displays a small logo that says "S.S. Ohio". A second old man is noticeable sitting on what seems to be a wooden chest while holding a piece of paper. He is wearing a long floral robe with a cap that says "S.S. Ohio" on it, similar to the first man's cap. A crowd of people is surrounding the site, who serves as spectators and are either sitting or standing close by to these men. Some people are noticeably wearing hats with the "S.S. Ohio" logo similar to the old men. A large mast is observable standing in the left, showing two long wooden poles attached and perpendicular to it.
