Description
This image shows the front of the open air Alpha Beta Market at 650 Pine Avenue. A variety of produce is on display along the edge of the sidewalk. Store staff (wearing aprons) are assisting customers. Large tulip-shaped public address speakers are mounted on either side of the large neon, "ALPHA BETA" block letters visible just above the entrance. Lettered inside the most visible speaker is the word, "Reliable." Sample produce prices include Carrots and Spinach, each for 1 cent a pound. At far right in the background, the neon Van De Kamp's bakery sign and windmill can be seen, along with the store's vertical neon "MARKET" sign. DATE NOTES: Noted on image back. ORIG.
