Description
Photograph of an adobe on the east side north of the Broadway Tunnel, Los Angeles, 1920. The back yard of the adobe is shown unkempt and littered with debris: oil drums and portions of machinery. In front of the cleared path, two wooden benches sit apart from one another a pile of smoothed stones next to the rightmost bench. The adobe itself is showing signs of disrepair, a whole chunk of its back wall crumbled to the sheetrock. In the background, on the street below, a station sporting the sign "Union Gas" can be seen.
