Description
Photographic portrait of Pio Pico dressed in a long coat with top hat on the table next to him, 1860. Pico is visible at center, posed with his left hand at the breast of his long, open jacket which appears to be made out of satin or silk. His pants are of a lighter color and have stripes down the side. He also wears a darkly-colored vest. His top hat is visible to the left along with an item that is possibly a cigarette case on a cloth-draped table. Pico's beard is full, uneven and white. Pico was the Mexican Governor of California and a lifelong resident.
