Annotation translation: "D.W. 2975 - A ward of the Gold Coast Hospital, Accra. The patients are entirely African. In 1944, the hospital had 4,700 in-patients. There are 275 beds and 25 cots. Maintenance fee for in-patients in 1/- a day and a private ward may be had for 3/9d. a day. Paupers are treated free as are those suffering from pulmonary tuberculosis." "
