Photograph caption dated April 5, 1987 reads, "Magic Johnson gets a chance to solidify his MVP status today when he leads the Lakers against the Nuggets on National TV." This view actually shows Johnson about to score despite his being surrounded by Robert Reid (33, left) and Allen Leavell (30, background) of the Houston Rockets, when the two teams played on March 31 at the Forum. The Lakers defeated the Rockets, 111-96.
