Description
Photograph caption dated April 20, 1962 reads "San Fernando High School's sensational hitter, Fred Rica, [sic] is seen in action (pictured), left, and at right shows how he grips bat. Tiger centerfielder leads East Valley League batters with a whopping .540 average, 13 hits in 24 trips to the plate. Rico has hit three homers in league play to spark San Fernando's six-game win streak. When league play resumes in both the East and West Valley circuits Thursday, the Tigers and Rico will be idle as they drew a bye. The big prep game Thursday matches the two undefeated West Valley League giants, Cleveland at Reseda." See image 00157710 for additional photo in this series.
