293 mounted specimens of algae, 4 to 8 per leaf, on 40 leaves. Each specimen is numbered to correspond with its printed description at the front. 2 pages of "Notices by the Press" at end. One of fifty copies printed of which only a few were finished with the mounted specimens. The first book on Algology, printed in America and of extreme rarity. A most interesting New York item which was published at $100 a copy. No copy has ever been sold at auction. --Dealer's note in card catalog.
