Description
Annotation translation: "Okwawu." Annotation: "Okwawu." Identity of photographer questionable. Note: Gem. T. Garrard: Hornberger 1860er Jahre, Bremer Mission (Cf. Album). - Falls das Bild von Hornberger stammt, ist es nach PJ wahrscheinlicher, dass es in der Volta-Region und nicht in Kwahu gemacht wurde. (PST). Note translation: According to T. Garrard: Hornberger, 1860's, Bremer Mission (see album). - I agree - note the vertical strip on the left of the image. Like a number of other Hornberger images this one was originally a stereo photograph which has simply been printed as a (later) standard size by including a part of the other picture of the pair. (PJ 07.1998). - If the photo is by Hornberger PJ suggests it was taken in the Volta-Region rather than in Kwahu. (PST).
