Photograph article dated August 15, 1961 partially reads, "A beautiful green landscape that once served as background for some of America's most memorable motion pictures now stands humbled by a three-year Southland drought. Land, used as part of Shangri-La in 'Lost Horizon' and the Tara plantation grounds in 'Gone With the Wind,' is now the scene of dying trees, dry riverbeds and troubled owners. 'We need help,' Mr. and Mrs. John Ridley, owners of Unfinished Symphony Ranch, 3380 Triunfo Canyon Rd., Cornell Cornens [sic], said this week. 'We need help quick.'" Pictured is John Ridley, inspecting a leaking water truck.
