Description
A close-up of a sawed off section on a living sequoia tree. The subsequent healing is visible in the offset nature of the bark and tree surrounding the cut. This tree is located in the Big Stump Basin, a section of General Grant's Grove that was logged at one time. This grove, along with the rest of General Grant National Park, was added to Kings Canyon National Park in an effort to preserve this grove of giant sequoias.
